Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information Visit Faliraki collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

Visit Faliraki ("we", "us", "our") operates this website, a tourism directory for Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece. We act as the data controller for the personal information you submit through this site. You can reach us at hello@visitfaliraki.gr.

2. Information we collect

We only collect the data we need to run the site and reply to you:

  • Contact details, your name, email and message when you submit the contact form or apply for a listing.
  • Usage data, anonymised statistics about which pages are visited and from which country, collected via privacy-friendly analytics.
  • Cookies, see Section 5 below.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.

3. How we use your information

  • To reply to your enquiries and respond to your requests.
  • To process partner-listing and job-board submissions from local businesses.
  • To improve the site, fix bugs and understand how visitors use it.
  • To comply with legal obligations under Greek and EU law.

Our legal basis is either your consent (e.g. for the contact form) or our legitimate interest in running and improving a free tourism directory.

4. Sharing your information

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with carefully chosen processors who help us run the site (for example, an email provider that delivers your message), and only to the extent strictly necessary. We may disclose information when required by law.

5. Cookies

This site uses two types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies, required for the site to function (e.g. language preference). These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies, anonymous statistics that help us understand aggregate traffic. You can opt out via your browser settings.

6. Third-party services

We embed a small number of third-party services to deliver the experience. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Maps, used to display the map and listing locations.
  • Unsplash, used to display a small set of placeholder photography.
  • Google Fonts, used to load the site's typeface.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Email us at hello@visitfaliraki.gr and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).

8. Data retention

We keep contact-form submissions for up to 24 months. Analytics data is stored in aggregated, anonymous form. Partner-listing data is kept for as long as the partnership is active.

9. International transfers

Our servers and processors are based in the European Union. Where data leaves the EEA (for example, when you click an external link to Instagram or TikTok), it is governed by that provider's policy and standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
